About the MovieThe film Get Out, directed by Jordan Peele, follows Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya), a young black man, as he goes with his girlfriend Rose Armitage (Allison Williams) to visit her family for the weekend. What begins as a nice trip into the suburbs becomes a nightmare for Chris, starting when a deer runs in front of their car. After arriving at the Armitage property, Chris faces the Armitage's charity, a twisted combination of admiration towards black people and hijacking, After being hypnotized and actioned off to the extended family, Chris manages to escape the Armitage's suburban compound with the help of his friend Rod Williams (Lil Rey Howery).

About the Controversy
A comedic horror film which satirizes the difficulties of being black in America today, Get Out was released to widespread critical acclaim. However, with great success comes great criticism and as the film circles racism in America today, there has been significant criticism. A number of people have called the movie “anti-white” and have accused it of transmitting “anti-white stereotypes”. Other reviewers have said that the movie “exploits racial discomfort” and “irresponsibly plays racial grief and racist relief against one another.” Either way, we are here to provide clarification about Get Out, a movie with more to offer than meets the eye.
